How to use the FD calculator
Enter the deposit amount (principal), the annual interest rate, tenure in years plus optional months, and how often interest is compounded. Choose Calculate to see maturity value, interest earned, and principal. Use Copy results when you want the breakdown elsewhere. Nothing is uploaded. Figures assume a constant rate and ignore TDS and bank rounding.
Frequently asked questions
How is FD maturity value calculated?
This tool uses compound interest: A = P × (1 + r/n)^(n×t). P is the principal, r is the annual rate as a decimal (percent ÷ 100), n is compounds per year, and t is tenure in years (years + months ÷ 12). Interest earned is A − P. When the rate is zero, maturity equals the principal.
What compounding frequencies can I use?
Monthly (12 times a year), quarterly (4), half-yearly (2), or yearly (1). Indian bank FDs often compound quarterly; match the frequency your bank quotes.
How should I enter FD tenure?
Type whole years and optional extra months (0–11). Tenure in years is years + months ÷ 12, so 2 years and 6 months is 2.5 years. At least one of years or months must be greater than zero.
Is this official bank advice?
No. Results are planning estimates only. Banks may round differently, use a different day-count, or deduct TDS. This page is not a deposit offer and not financial advice.
Does the FD calculator upload my deposit details?
No. FD math runs in your browser. Deskutil never receives the principal, rate, tenure, or compounding you enter.
