Add Watermark

Add a text or image PDF watermark in your browser, then download watermarked.pdf. Draw rotated text on every page, optionally stamp a PNG or JPG, and set opacity. Password-protected PDFs fail with a clear error. Nothing is uploaded.

This draws a visible overlay with pdf-lib. It does not encrypt the file. Work stays in the browser. Large files may be slow.

Choose one PDF or drop it here. Nothing is uploaded.

Nothing is sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. pdf-lib runs in your browser, watermarked.pdf is built locally, and Deskutil never receives the file, the watermark text, or the image.

How does Add Watermark stamp a PDF?

It draws your text on every page with pdf-lib, rotated about 45 degrees, either tiled or centered. Opacity applies to the stamp. If you choose a PNG or JPG, that image is stamped on every page as well.

What happens with a password-protected PDF?

Watermarking stops with a clear error. Remove the password in another app, then try again. The file is never uploaded.

Can I use both text and an image?

Yes. The text field defaults to CONFIDENTIAL. Leave it filled to draw a text PDF watermark, and optionally pick a PNG or JPG to stamp too. You need at least text or an image.

What file do I download?

A single PDF named watermarked.pdf. Every page has the watermark drawn on top. The original file on your device is unchanged. This is a visible overlay, not encryption.
