HEIC to JPG

Convert HEIC to JPG in your browser. Pick HEIC or HEIF photos, set JPEG quality, then download a JPG or a zip of JPGs. Work stays on your device. Safari often decodes natively. Some Chromium builds cannot convert every file even with the in-page decoder.

Original files are not uploaded. Native decode is tried first. If that fails, heic2any runs locally. Metadata is not copied. Some Chromium files will fail.

Choose one or more HEIC or HEIF photos, or drop them here. Nothing is uploaded.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

Choose or drop one or more HEIC or HEIF photos. Set JPEG quality. Then Convert to JPG. Safari and some Chromium builds decode natively. If that fails, a client-side decoder (heic2any) runs in the page. One file downloads as a .jpg. Several files download as converted-jpgs.zip. EXIF is not copied. Nothing is sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion runs in your browser. Deskutil never receives the HEIC or HEIF file or the JPG you download.

How does HEIC to JPG conversion work?

The tool first tries native decode with createImageBitmap or an Image element, which works in Safari and some Chromium builds. If that fails, it loads heic2any from a CDN and converts in the page. JPEG quality is the encoder setting on a canvas or decoder output.

Will every HEIC file convert in Chrome?

Not always. Some files fail in Chromium when the browser has no HEIC decoder and the fallback cannot parse the file. Safari usually does better. Nothing is uploaded either way.

Are EXIF and Live Photo extras kept?

No. The download is a new JPEG. Camera metadata is not copied. Live Photo motion is not kept. A multi-image HEIC may only yield the primary still, or extra stills if the decoder returns them.

What file do I download?

One HEIC becomes a .jpg named from the original. Several files download as converted-jpgs.zip. The original on your device is unchanged.
