Split PDF

Split one PDF in your browser: extract a page range into one file, save every page as its own PDF, or split into chunks of N pages. Pages are copied as they are—not OCR or restyle. Password-protected PDFs fail with a clear error. Nothing is uploaded.

This copies pages as-is with pdf-lib. It does not OCR scans or restyle layouts. Work stays in the browser. Large files may be slow.

Choose one PDF or drop it here. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use Split PDF

Choose or drop one PDF. The page count appears after the file is read locally. Pick a mode: extract a range such as 1-3,5,8-10 into one PDF, split every page into separate PDFs downloaded one after another, or split into chunks of N pages. Then Split PDF. Password-protected files fail with an error. Files around 40 MB or many pages may slow this tab. Nothing is sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract only some pages?

Choose Extract page range and enter pages like 1-3,5,8-10. Those pages are copied into one PDF in that order. The original file is not uploaded.

Can I save every page as its own PDF?

Yes. Choose Split every page. Each page is copied into a separate PDF and downloaded sequentially. Your browser may ask to allow multiple downloads.

What happens with a password-protected PDF?

Split stops with a clear error. Remove the password in another app, then try again. The file is never uploaded.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. pdf-lib runs in your browser, new files are built locally, and Deskutil never receives the PDF.

Does Split PDF redesign or OCR my pages?

No. It copies pages as they are with pdf-lib. It does not OCR scanned pages, restyle layouts, or rebuild text.
